Wishes for the Sky would not be possible without the support of four key partners:
Public Art Saint Paul
Public Art St Paul, a non-profit organization established in 1987, is the compelling voice and prime mover in creating and caring for art in the Saint Paul’s civic realm. Working with public agencies and private institutions, we engage artists in shaping public places that fosters imagination, illuminate civic history, and strengthen public places as vessels of civic life. We produce workshops and forums that present and explore ideas of place-making. In May and June of 2006 Public Art Saint Paul presented “Minnesota Rocks,” an international stone carving symposium in a 10,000 square-feet, open-airstudio.
On the Commons
On the Commons is a national network of fellows and activists in 3 areas: Public Education about the Commons; The Common Wealth Task Force; and Commons-based Local Organizing Models. Founded in 2001 as The Tomales Bay Institute, On the Commons is developing the Commons as a new model of politics, economics and culture. Our work is rooted in the belief that many forms of wealth—nature, knowledge, public institutions—belong to us all and should be managed for the common good, not private gain.
Eureka Recycling
Eureka Recycling is one of the largest nonprofit recyclers in the United States and a leader in demonstrating the best waste reduction and recycling practices not only for the Twin Cities metro area, but for the nation. For over 15 years, Eureka Recycling has been Saint Paul’s nonprofit recycler. Under a long-term contract with the city, Eureka Recycling provides recycling services to Saint Paul’s homes and apartments. In addition, Eureka Recycling is a leader in waste reduction education and advocacy.
Saint Paul Parks and Recreation
St Paul Department of Parks & Recreation is dedicated to enhancing the lives of its citizens and visitors by providing safe, quality leisure services, programs and facilities while preserving and enhancing natural resources and stimulating the economic vitality of the community. We will create a comprehensive system of recreational programming, facilities and natural resource protection and enhancement that is of national quality. Our efforts will include the researching of the latest trends, the assessing of community needs and interests, the ongoing evaluation of all operations and the utilization of best practices in order to provide a healthy quality of life in our ever-changing community.
